Missions
Psalmody International is blessed to have people who have helped us over the years, and who are currently taking our material into third world countries.
Our vision is to raise up the standard of worship throughout the church world wide, and sowing our resources into third world countries and churches that cannot afford to purchase the material drives our missions program.
If you have a nation or a church that you would like to sow finances toward getting them up and running with a School of Worship, please let us know. We will facilitate you as a missions partner with Psalmody, helping us fulfil the vision. We will be updating our progress into our missions work in this website.
In recent times we have sowed into the following nations:
South Africa - Prisons
Angus Milne has been taking Psalmody into prisons in the region of Kimberley, with many wonderful testimonies from prisoners of changed lives. We appreciate the work he is doing. Here is an excerpt and picture from a recent graduation:
"We have made a great impact on the New Kimberley Correctional Services Centre this past year. Our Bible School presented a first year certificate course to one group, we presented a course on handling finances God’s way through Crown Ministries, and then of course, I ran Psalmody level 1. On Tuesday, 19 July we held a certification ceremony for all the inmates who successfully completed these courses. The inmates in my photo with cloaks on are guys who attended the Bible School course as well as Psalmody. Their names are:
Top left to right: Sunnyboy Rapodile, Maphiri Mashego, Michael Gayisa, Petrus Motswenyana, Gift Phandle, Johannes Mentoor, Mziyanda Montwana, Freddie Titus, Fabian Marthinus, Karel Witbooi
Seated left to right: Neville Titus, Arnold Williams (Head of Spiritual Care at Correctional Services), Angus Milne (me), Rina van Wyk (dean of our Bible School), Ps. Harry Hurndall (Associate Pastor at City of Hope), and Willem de Jongh.
Themba April also completed the course but did not attend the certificate ceremony as he has since been released from prison. That’s 13 inmates in total!"
Nepal
Vasker Lama, from Austria, has been running mission Schools in Nepal, He is currently there again teaching and training students in the Psalmody level 1 course. We are excited to partner with him to reach the precious people in Nepal. Check out his website - http://www.meroghar.org
Guyana
Our representatives in London have taken a mission trip to introduce the principles of worship earlier this year with great success. Here are some of the testimonies.
“This course was very well structured and took us on a journey that does not end at the end of the course”. Verna Wilks
“This course surpassed my expectations”. Andrew Simpson
“This course has helped me to understand that prayer should always be accompanied with worship and thanksgiving”. Nadesha Reid
China
Recently the latest Psalmody material was translated into Chinese in 2009 and taken into the underground churches by a couple who are missionaries.
We also have had reports by key contacts in 2006 that Psalmody has been going into the underground Chinese church for many years reaching thousands of underground church leaders. This work has been initiated from churches in Hong Kong. These reports really bless us as we have a heart to reach the underground church of China. As a precaution we cannot mention their names or ministries here.
At the online store we have the latest Chinese translation available for $9.99 - contact us if you are planning a missions trip there and would like to take it with you.
Kenya
Established missionaries in Kenya have taken the School of Worship material into the prisons, and we got excellent reports of changed lives. This has been carried out by theJennie Ochieng of 'Disciples of Mercy' - http://www.disciplesofmercy.net - check out their website for more info or to support them.
What a joy to finish the School of Worship with my key leaders here in Kenya...Tom it was life changing, we are all experiencing a freedom by deliverance in various areas. I am so grateful you obeyed the Lord in producing the course on Video. We will all in turn now teach it to those under us in various departments. I am going to look into taking the course into the prisons...
- Jennie Ochieng (2009)
Update January 2012: The Psalmody School of Worship course in now in 18 prisons in Kenya through the Disciples of Mercy organisation and in partnership with AFCM ministries (http://www.afcm.org.au).
South Africa - Restoring the Sound
We were privileged to sow finances and School of Worship material into a great work in Cape Town that is reaching young men and women with music training in poor townships. Our great friend Trevor Sampson runs the organisation called 'Restoring the Sound' - http://restoringthesound.com
Have a look through their website and consider supporting them!
Central Africa
A missionary friend I have known for many years, Johan and Alta Cronje have been so faithful and trained thousands of African leaders with our material throughout central Africa for many years. They have an amazing heart for seeing worship rise up in Africa.
Together we can make an impact in transforming the church across the world into a worshiping one in preparation for the return of the Lord.
